Litigation Funding

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”

- Mark Twain

Alleviating pressure by securing capital to win the case.

Now close to deploying over half a billion dollars since 2014—and a formidable name in Litigation Finance for over a decade—Mirena is recognized as one of the trailblazers in the Litigation Funding Industry. As a funding specialist, she works with firms to provide equitable, market-oriented legal finance solutions for a variety of contingency-fee dockets, such as class action, mass tort, personal injury, intellectual property, environmental, employment law cases, to name a few.

She strategically unlocks liquidity and gives firms more time to process a case, hire the best experts, and acquire an inventory of new cases to steadily increase chances for a successful claim.

Curating and managing litigation funds

Since the majority of settlements take months (or even years) to resolve, a practice cannot always rely on the standard banking process to fund a claim. Because capital crates momentum to win a case, the need for legal financial-backing becomes inevitable.

Pre-Settlement Funding

Also known as Nonrecourse Pre-Settlement Funding and Pre-settlement Finance, is a type of cash advance in exchange for a portion of expected, future settlement proceeds. It is a way of receiving money before the settlement of a case. Mirena & Co. helps Plaintiffs acquire and manage funds to help them go through the major life-changing events brought about by ongoing litigation.

Post-Settlement Funding

A type of Litigation Funding that bridges the gap between the date of a settlement and the final payment of the settlement proceeds. Plaintiffs who apply or use this type of funding already won the settlement, but are still waiting for the funds of the case. Post-settlement funding differs only from Pre-settlement funding in terms of the lower interest rate.
